A Persian-language movie and series platform, available in Afghanistan. Backend work on the NestJS services behind the catalogue and viewer features.
The project
Movie.af brings movies and series together in a Persian-language streaming platform. The service is only available inside Afghanistan, where viewers use it to browse and watch entertainment content.
Movie.af presents a large collection of movies and series to Persian-speaking viewers in Afghanistan. Its public interface brings together featured titles, browsing categories, artwork, and title information, all of which depend on the backend keeping the catalogue and viewer data consistent.
What I did
I work on the Movie.af backend at Raha Ertebat as part of a team of backend developers. The backend is built with NestJS as a set of services, and my work covers the catalogue, viewer features, the API that clients call, and playback statistics.

A catalogue that stays in sync
Backend work on movies, series, seasons, and episodes, with localized names and descriptions, and catalogue data kept in sync with external movie databases.

Features tied to the viewer
Profiles, preferences, watch history, comments, reviews, and reporting, each connected to a viewer’s account.

Services and APIs
The backend is a set of NestJS services. I work on the endpoints that expose these features to the apps, and on playback statistics.
In practice
I have contributed to the Movie.af backend since 2025. The public website is the work of the frontend team.
Credits. Movie.af is built by a team at Raha Ertebat. My contribution described here is backend development; the website interface, the platform’s content, and much of the backend are the work of my colleagues.
